(Juli) Julianne M. Charlesworth, CPA

Juli recently celebrated her 25th anniversary of being a CPA and her own practice.  After graduating from Purdue University, Juli worked for USX Corporation as an Internal Auditor and then in public accounting for three years with a Michigan City, IN CPA firm.  Juli's office is in a rural portion of northwest Indiana about an hour from both Chicago, IL and South Bend, IN.  In addition to serving over 500 tax clients, she also serves businesses and farms organized as S and C corporations, partnerships, LLCs and sole proprietors.  Her son, Riley, graduated from Purdue with an Agri-Business Management degree and brings new knowledge to the firm to enhance the agricultural specialty. In February of 2018 an opportunity arose to acquire an existing accounting firm in Valpraiso, IN and a second office was opened.  Mary Wherrett is the office manager in Valparaiso and has 25 years of bookkeeping and payroll experience.

Juli joined Avantax Investment Services℠ in 2005 after obtaining the Series 6 - Investment Company and Variable Contracts Products Representative, FINRA Series 63 - Uniform Securities Agent State Law licenses.  In 2006, she added a Life and Health Insurance license to be able to offer clients Life, Long Term Care and Disability Insurance as well as Variable and Fixed Annuities.  When Juli started with Avantax, she had two young children and realized that many of her friends and clients would not be able to pay for college for their children without planning and would not be able to receive federal financial aid.  She was motivated then, and still is today, to encourage friends and clients to save for their children's and grandchildren's college education.  Not far behind that goal is to help folks save for retirement and to reach their own financial goals. During 2017, Juli added Michigan licenses and expanded to southwest Michigan.
